Spring Break with Bubba!

Carson, or as Lily calls her brother, Bubba! was here for a little over a week for Spring Break! We really had a great time! Lily absolutely loves her brother! She doesn't want to take a nap or go to bed while he is here because she is afraid she will miss something. Some of Lily's favorite things to do with Bubba are throw balls at him, do "this little piggy" with him (she loves it when he goes "weeweewee all the way home!" and tickles her and just be a constant shadow to him!

Carson is a good big brother and try's very hard to not get annoyed with her (they are after all 7 years apart!)

We had a lot of family time this trip and James got to have one on one time with Carson too! Our favorite thing to do as a family is crawl into bed together in the mornings and try to relax...which is nearly impossible because there is a 1 year old and 8 year old jumping all over the place and making lots of noise...which we absolutely love!

Easter!

For Easter we had a busy weekend! Now we all know the Easter Bunny isn't real...but it sure is fun to find eggs and eat candy! Carson and Lily went to Papa James' company egg hunt at the Sheriffs Department on Saturday Morning. They separated the kids into age groups. Lily was not too sure about finding the eggs, but she quickly got into it! Especially once she found out there was "Canny" in the eggs! The fun quickly ended for her when she saw the Easter Bunny come into the room...she was a little petrified and wouldn't let us put her down again!

Carson had a lot of fun too! Him and his cousins searched for eggs then had a fun time searching for money in a hay pile! I think Carson ended up getting about 5 bucks for his effort!

We ended the day having a final egg hunt at Gramma and Papa's house! This is the third year we have done this and the kids LOVE it! Gramma does an awesome job getting prizes and Papa hides the eggs!

Our Weekend Retreat!

Over this past weekend, James surprised Lily and me with a little getaway to Bremerton, WA. After weeks of sickness in our home it was a very nice, relaxing retreat! We stayed the night at a hotel, took Lily to the pool, enjoyed a little St. Patrick’s Day festivity, toured the U.S.S. Turner Joy and ate at an authentic Boston Deli & Pizza place.

The weather was just right…well it could have been a few degrees warmer, but it wasn’t raining and the sun was shining! So no complaints  Lily was very good too and enjoyed being outside and looking at all the cool stuff in the ship. If you are ever in Bremerton; we highly recommend the tour of the U.S.S. Turner Joy and getting a bite to eat at Boston Deli & Pizza. The service was excellent and the owners are straight from Boston, just moved here 6 years ago to open this great place! The Calzones were awesome! I have included some pics and a link for you to learn more about the history of the U.S.S. Turner Joy.

Not feeling so good!

At the Park on a Sunny Day!

At the Park on a Sunny Day!

We found a mask for James! No, he didn't really need it!

At Mary Bridge Childrens Hospital...Lily did great!

Well, we have had some scary and intense moments the last few weeks! First Lily was sick and had to go on antibiotics. She did fine for 10 days. Then...it all happened! Lily woke up with a rash...we took her to the ER. They said it was an allergy to the Amoxicillin. So we stopped the meds and gave her some Benadryl. That night it just got worse. We ended up taking her to the Pediatrician because the rash turned to Purple bruising, and had traveled to her face and eyes. The doctor Prescribed her a steroid and said no more Amoxicillin! It was a scary situation, but I guess fairly common. The rash is now completely gone, however she is still not feeling well. The doctor says she has a viral infection and to just let it run its course!

In the meantime, James has had a bad cough that just hasn't gotten better. This weekend he was having flu like symptoms. He woke up this morning and informed me he was going to Urgent Care! Well you know there is something seriously wrong if a man wants to go to the doctor! We spent the morning at a great new facility on Canyon Road. The nurse and doctor were great. James had a chest xray, nose swab, urine test and blood drawn. The result was that he has pneumonia and is dehydrated. Poor guy! He had a breathing treatment and was put on antibiotics. He opted to not have IV fluids pumped into him, so he is drinking 8ozs of water every 1/2 hour to hour. I am so thankful he decided to go in because this could have been much worse! Hopefully by tomorrow he will really start feeling better! Now we just have to watch Lily and be sure her cough doesn't develop into something worse! On a side note, I am fairly healthy, and hope to stay that way! We don't need Mommy sick too!
